Your first call
Start the call
In a Space, use the call button at the top right.
- Tap to start a video call.
- Press and hold for a voice-only call. On the web you confirm this in a small browser prompt.
The first time you call a Spark, you set up its face and voice first (see Your first Spark). You also see a short Before your first call note: the call is not recorded, and a summary and action items appear in Artifacts when the call ends.
While it connects
The screen shows "Getting camera and microphone ready" and then "Reaching your assistant". A cold start can take a little while, typically ten to twenty seconds. The Spark waits until your audio is ready before it speaks.
Your microphone is needed for a call. Your camera is optional: video calls start with the camera on, and you can turn it off from the call at any time with the Camera button.
During the call
Talk naturally. You can interrupt. You can also:
- open the Board so the Spark can sketch while you talk;
- ask for a picture, a checklist or a card, which appears on the call's Screen view;
- leave the call screen to check something else: a small call window stays in a corner, and tapping it takes you back.
When it ends
End with the End button, or simply ask the Spark to hang up. Silence never ends a call by itself.
After the call you can open View summary. The call's page has the summary, key insights, action items and the transcript, when they are ready. Summaries are usually there, but they can fail or need a little input from you, and Calynta says so when that happens.
Calls use credits for every minute they run, and a video avatar uses more than voice alone. Your balance is on Profile → Credits. See Plans and credits.
