Files and knowledge sources

Files you send​

Send a file through the attach sheet in any Space (see Chat with a Spark for types and sizes). The Spark reads what is inside, not just the name:

  • Documents (PDF, text, Markdown, JSON) are read and can be searched later.
  • Pictures get a short description the Spark can use.
  • Videos are watched when you ask.
  • Audio can be attached but is not searchable text.

Ask things like "What does this contract say about renewal?" or "Summarise the three decisions in this PDF."

No drag and drop

Dragging a file onto the chat is not supported yet. Use the attach sheet, or paste an image.

Knowledge sources​

You can connect three sources so Calynta can answer from your own documents:

  • Notion
  • Google Drive
  • OneDrive

Connect them from Profile → Connections, or from the Knowledge section of the attach sheet's Apps tab.

  • Only your main Calynta Space reads your knowledge sources. Other Sparks never see them.
  • Sources refresh about every 15 minutes.
  • When you disconnect a source, you choose whether to delete the documents Calynta imported from it.
What the connect screen says

During setup, the consent screen may name the service Calynta uses to read your documents rather than Calynta itself. That is expected.
