Routines and the Scheduled hub

A routine is something a Spark does for you on a schedule, on its own. For example: "Every weekday at 7, brief me on AI news."

Setting one up

Ask a Spark in chat. It creates the routine and shows a routine card in your Space with Pause and Run now.

How often

ScheduleExample
Once"Tomorrow at 9, check whether the venue replied."
Every so many minutes"Every 30 minutes, look for new comments." (at least every 15 minutes)
Daily"Every day at 6 pm, summarise my day."
Weekdays"Every weekday at 7, brief me on the news."
Weekly"Every Monday at 8, plan my week."

Routines follow your own time zone.

What happens when it runs

A routine runs exactly like a message you typed, in the routine's Space. Its message says Scheduled followed by the routine's name. The Spark keeps its report short and tells you what changed since last time.

By default, Calynta notifies you only when a routine fails. You can change that for each routine.

The Scheduled hub

Profile → Scheduled brings everything with a time on it into one place: routines, page watches, upcoming scheduled calls and goal check-ins. Tap a routine to:

  • switch it Running or not;
  • turn Report what changed on or off;
  • choose when to be notified;
  • Run now;
  • see its last 20 runs;
  • Delete it.
